Detox pads are foot pads that are placed on the underside of your feet. They act as a mode of natural detox by extracting the toxic chemicals and other wastes from your body through perspiration that is generated under the feet. Most detox pads are composed of organic substances like distilled bamboo vinegar, wood vinegar, tourmaline, vitamin C, loquat leaf extract, citronella, diatomaceous earth, dextrin and vegetable fibre. The potential benefits of these detox pads are believed to be:
· stress relief
· relief from fatigue
· relief from head ache and joint aches
· curing of skin rashes
· increasing the metabolic rate
· weight loss
· better energy levels
Detox pads are essentially simple to use. They are usually used during a course of one week or fourteen days or sometimes, even a month.
· The first step is take the adhesive backing and the detox pads. Both of them come together as a pair.
· The paper on the backing is removed on the bottom side and left attached on the top side.
· The detox pads are placed on the centre of the adhesive backing, making sure that the written side of the detox pads face the top.
· The remaining paper on the adhesive backing is removed.
· The detox pads along with the adhesive backing are now placed on the sole of the foot.
· After a sleep of 6-8 hours, the detox pads is removed.
It is claimed that one would feel refreshed and ready to face the day after using the natural detox process. The side of the detox pads that touched the sole would be dark in colour, which means that the toxins have been extracted from the body. One should not touch this side. The detox pad is then discarded and a new detox pad used for the following night. These detox pads are more like wide band aids attached to the sole of the feet.
Some users of these detox pads suggest that doing one foot a night is more beneficial for the natural detox process. Also, they say that one should drink a lot of water during the day if planning to use a detox pad. Alcohol should be avoided at all costs. Some consequences of not drinking water and consuming alcohol are body aches, fever, chills, nausea, headaches, and diarrhea.
